Tele-Intervention — Babies

Comprehensive tele-services customized to meet the specific needs of deaf infants and children throughout BC.

A Sound Move — Tele-Intervention (birth to age 3)

A Sound Move Tele-Intervention provides direct Auditory-Verbal Therapy in the home community and is available for families who do not live within reasonable travelling distance from Metro Vancouver. Families requesting services via tele-intervention will be offered an initial consultation/interview to discuss their individual needs with the Auditory-Verbal Therapy Programme Director.

Auditory-Verbal Therapy is based on the principle that most deaf and hard of hearing children with early intervention can be taught to listen and speak. The goals of a A Sound Move are to help families teach their babies and toddlers who have hearing loss to listen and talk and to be mainstreamed alongside their hearing peers.

A Sound Move Tele-Intervention is provided to:

  • Children who have a hearing loss and are fitted with hearing aids and/or cochlear implant(s)
  • Families interested in pursuing an approach where therapy focuses on developing children's listening and spoken language
  • Families with children under the age of 3
  • Caregiver(s) who are able to participate in intervention on a regular basis

For further information on our tele-services, please contact our AVT Programme Director at 604-437-0255.
