Stepping Out Tele-Education** (Kindergarten to Grade 12)

Stepping Out Tele-Education offers an extensive professional support system for you and your student in their school. The only independent school in Western Canada offering itinerant teacher of the deaf services, our team has years of experience in teaching deaf children to listen and speak.

Our core objectives for deaf and hard-of-hearing students

  • Successful placement in mainstream classrooms
  • Ongoing development of auditory-oral skills to expand expressive and receptive language
  • Refinement of speech skills
  • Enhancement of a student's academic, social and emotional development
  • Support transitions
  • Care and management of FM equipment, hearing aids and cochlear implants

Our comprehensive programme includes:

  • Development of speech, language and listening skills
  • Self-advocacy, independent learning and social integration skills
  • Assessment (Level A and B) and Report Writing
  • Academic Support
  • Professional development and in-service opportunities for classroom teachers
  • Technical Advice for hearing aids cochlear implants, and classroom FM systems
